Nikon F5, Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8 14mm, Kodachrome 64 colour slide film
the auction ends tomorrow, the show has been very well attended. This is my contribution to "kodachrome in bloom", a show...no, a meditation I was invited to participate in last november. From a colour slide, this picture was developed by the last lab the day before the machinery was broken and the chemicals poured down the drain.
this low resolution scan is all I get. The original slide was sent to california to be Ilfochrome/Cibachrome printed onto aluminum, and absolutely no representation on the web can come close to describing how utterly delicious a print like that looks hanging on the wall. The slide came back with the print, but it is the property of the auction winner, making this print a genuine 1/1.
flowers with an ultra bright, ultra wide-angle zoom, something I've been wanting to try for some years now. In making this picture, the asters in question were no more than a millimeter from the huge convex front element of the Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8 zoom, a no-brainer lens for any Nikon film or full-frame digital afficiando with deep pockets, though a bit of a waste and not the best option for Nikon FX shooters.
I wanted to turn macro on its head, and I think I succeeded.
