it's been months and months, this photo never really struck me. today I picked it up printed on a lark, right off the camera save for the 11x14 crop, when I was at the lab getting more serious prints done. This shot, to its author anyway, just sings in print in a way on the internets it never could. As always, your mileage may vary.

And yes, this is leeward, but this is the open Pacific, and it was, leeward or no, really, really palm-tree-bending-over and whipped-Pacific windy.
