I don’t think there is a way to photograph this place that makes it look real, and I think that’s simply because it’s one of the most unreal places on earth. Standing there with two-thirds of the earth’s atmosphere beneath you it boggles the mind to even try to fathom the colours, the distances, the chaos frozen in front of you. Every time you blink the wonder starts all over. This is a very, very special place to me.
