no sooner did i head out the door to borrow some fall colours for the blog today than it started to rain. perfect synchrony.

this afternoon's rain is of the perfect sort for long walks, alone or within that mythic romantic construct, the kind that only gets two kinds of things actually wet: the middle of the street after an hour, and the digital camera within half a second of digging it out from under your coat. with that in mind, i didn't borrow nearly as much as i would have if today's perfect light autumn sky had not succumbed to gravity.

i'm having a good afternoon indoors now, it's cozy in here, something dreamy on the hi-fi.

i'm not ready for it to be october yet, but somehow september now seems very far away.
